Faster dashboard performance enabling near real-time visibility across properties
Operator data isolation with row-level security enforced across all users
Unifying data consolidation and reporting while eliminating manual workflows
A hospitality technology provider operates an enterprise platform powering kiosk-based retail experiences across hotel properties. It enables guests to make on-site purchases while giving operators and partners visibility into sales, commissions, and performance across locations.
As transaction volumes grew, the organization partnered with Simform to modernize its reporting infrastructure for scale, performance, and secure multi-operator analytics.

As usage increased across operators and properties, it introduced complexities the existing setup could not efficiently support.
Handling datasets exceeding one million rows exposed limitations in the existing setup, with dashboard load times reaching 4-5 minutes and significantly impacting usability and timely access to insights.
Using Excel-based data transfers to bridge system gaps introduced delays and operational dependencies, increasing the risk of errors and making reporting workflows difficult to maintain and scale.
The absence of built-in data isolation controls made it difficult to support multiple operators within a shared reporting layer, introducing scalability challenges and potential data exposure risks.
Simform partnered with the client to modernize its reporting infrastructure and enable scalable, secure multi-operator analytics. After evaluating multiple platforms, we selected Microsoft Fabric for its native Azure integration, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Ingested sales data from the Azure-hosted platform into OneLake using delta format storage. Replaced fragmented data sources and manual Excel-based workflows with a structured, consistently updated data foundation for analytics.
Built a governed semantic layer to standardize metrics across operators and properties. Developed Power BI dashboards within Fabric to deliver insights on sales performance, commissions, product trends, and operational metrics.
Implemented row-level security at the semantic model level to enforce strict operator-level data isolation. Enabled a centralized reporting model where multiple stakeholders access the same dataset securely based on assigned roles.
Integrated Power BI dashboards into web portals using embedded analytics capabilities. Provisioned dedicated Fabric workspaces for enterprise users, enabling self-service reporting while maintaining centralized governance.
The modernization of the reporting platform eliminated performance bottlenecks, improved data governance, and enabled scalable analytics across a growing multi-operator ecosystem.
Dashboard load times reduced from minutes to seconds, enabling operators and partners to access near real-time insights and act on sales and performance data without delays.
Each operator accesses only their own data within a centralized model. Expanding the operator network no longer means revisiting governance controls from scratch each time.
With unified data in OneLake and standardized models in place, the platform is positioned to enable and support more advanced AI-driven use cases in the future.
